Our Mission

Our mission at the Southfield Institute is not just to promote an environment of excellence, but to fully embody that concept, from the students to the faculty, from our curriculum and campus as a whole. And from what we can see, our mission is right on target with students who consistently show impressive results on standardized tests, New York State ELA and Math, and Stanford Achievement Test. Before we opened middle school, nearly 85% of our first graduating 5th graders were accepted in the most prestigious Scholars Programs in Staten Island and Brooklyn. I.S. 75 Scholars and Mark Twain are among our graduates’ current middle schools and all of them excel.

It is of the utmost importance that our facility and course offerings at Southfield Institute grow and develop right along with our student, further promoting greater success and excellence. In the 2014/15 school year Southfield Institute launched a revolutionary Computer Science program. As the digital age imposes additional responsibility to the educators, we see our current students as successful professionals of the mid of 21st century, and understand that digital technology is their main tool.
